Enrico Pieranunzi – piano
In case of bad weather: Spazio Venezia – via G. Stuparich, 8, 33100 Udine UD
1685 – the birth year of three ‘stars’: Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Handel and Domenico Scarlatti. Enrico Pieranunzi proves that classical music and jazz can go hand in hand. We are not talking about hybridisation and even less about the Third Current. The Roman pianist does not attempt to interpret the great classical repertoire in a jazzy manner, and even less to ‘ennoble’ jazz by juxtaposing it with works that certain Western ethnocentric positions consider ‘superior’.
