A sound that breathes, shifting and renewing itself with every listen: youthful creative force, a liberated sense of phrasing, and the trumpet of Enrico Rava shaping time from within. This is Enrico Rava’s new project: a close-knit, vibrant ensemble, firmly rooted in the present yet rich in depth.
An imagined island where each musician both gives and receives, guided by mutual respect and an ever-alert sensitivity to the others, something like a “perfect democracy” that perhaps only jazz can bring to life. Fearless Five unites a new generation with Rava’s long artistic journey, without turning experience into a constraint. Here, experience becomes space – an opening, a field of possibility.
It is a “fearless” quintet not for excess, but for its commitment to listening as a method and freedom as a form: each moment unfolds through impulses, responses, and sudden changes of direction, always remaining music, never mere display.
