A visionary composer and sensitive innovator, Oscar winner Ryuichi Sakamoto was able to unite East and West, electronics and tradition, leaving a profound mark on contemporary music. This concert – a tribute two years after his death – celebrates his poetic legacy, amidst sounds, movements and memory: the sound experience is flanked by a visual choreographic one. Davide Tura models a concert between post-rock atmospheres and minimalist textures, in dialogue with the string trio, which takes up the formation with which the Japanese Maestro undertook his 1996 world tour, together with electronic sound design. Also on the programme are some of Tura’s pieces from the Distance collection: distance is the goal to be bridged, the great legacy that music always gives us.
