Hattiva Lab, a non-profit social cooperative based in Udine, deals with social-educational, social-health and care services in the area of disabilities and minors with specific developmental disorders. Currently, Hattiva Lab manages daytime services for people with disabilities; information and guidance services such as the InfoHandicap Centre, the Support Administrator Desk; specialised after-school activities (after-school and individualised interventions) and reinforcement of deficient skills (reading-writing, calculation, problem solving, memory and attention) for children and young people with special educational needs; prevention and training activities in schools and an integrated multidisciplinary clinical centre for the evaluation and intervention in the age of development called ‘Spazio Crisalide’.

The collaboration between Hattiva Lab and SimulArte will give life to a live performance by the duo Nicoletta Taricani and Alessio Zoratto for the More Than Jazz festival. The event will be staged at the Day Centre for people with disabilities managed by Hattiva Lab on 10 July from 10.30 a.m. in via Porzùs 72 in the Paderno district of Udine.

Nicoletta Taricani

Nicoletta Taricani is a talented jazz singer with a solid musical training. She graduated from the Conservatorio ‘Jacopo Tomadini’ in 2020, specialising in jazz singing under the guidance of Maestros Glauco Venier and Alfonso Deidda. Subsequently, in March 2023, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in jazz singing with top marks and honours at the Conservatorio ‘Giuseppe Tartini’ in Trieste, where she studied with Professor Daniela Spalletta. Nicoletta Taricani has participated in various festivals and musical events, demonstrating her talent and gaining important recognition. In 2021 she was a finalist in the “Tomorrow’s Jazz” competition with her compositions “Alimede” and “My hope in the night sea-crossing” from her debut album “In un mare di voci” and in 2023 she won the Claudia Grimaz Prize as best performer.

Alessio Zoratto

Alessio Zoratto studied jazz double bass with two of the most renowned musicians at national and international level, Glauco Venier and Alfonso Deidda, at the Conservatorio J. Tomadini in Udine, graduating with top marks and honours. At the same time, he is also finishing his classical double bass studies under the guidance first of maestro Franco Feruglio and then of maestro Fabio Serafini. In December 2021, together with guitarist Filippo Ieraci’s group with Emanuele Filippi and Camilla Collet, he won first prize in the ‘Tomorrow’s Jazz’ competition at the ‘La Fenice’ theatre. In May 2022, he performed two concerts in Pittsburgh in the United States for the ‘Jazz and Poetry’ festival together with Claudio Cojaniz and Luca Colussi and with saxophonist Oliver Lake. In the same period he also won a scholarship for the clinics of the renowned ‘Berklee College’ at Umbria Jazz, during which he won the prize for best musician at the clinics. In October 2022, he performed together with leader Glauco Venier’s quartet in Turkey at the Italian Embassy in Ankara, at the ‘Cermodern Museum’ in Ankara and at ‘Palazzo Venezia’ in Istanbul. In November 2022, he performed for the ‘Flight of Jazz’ together with Randy Brecker, Glauco Venier, Luca Colussi and the orchestra of the ‘NAONIS Music Academy’ conducted by Maestro Walter Sivilotti. He currently plays in various formations, to name a few, Glauco Venier’s ‘Quartetto Nuovo’, Luca Colussi’s quartet and Saverio Tasca’s trio.
